- Natrise Tablet contains tolvaptan and is used to treat hyponatremia, which is a condition characterized by low levels of sodium in the blood. - It is commonly prescribed for patients whose low sodium levels result from conditions like heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH). - In specific cases, it is also utilized to treat autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) to help slow down the decline of kidney function. - The medicine works as a vasopressin antagonist, blocking the hormone responsible for water retention to increase urine production and remove excess water. - By promoting water excretion without causing a significant loss of essential electrolytes, it successfully raises blood sodium concentrations back to a normal range.
