- Acuclav Dry Syrup 30ml is a combination antibiotic medication consisting of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, primarily formulated for use in children. - It is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections, including those affecting the respiratory tract, middle ear, sinuses, urinary tract, skin, soft tissues, bones, and teeth. - The medicine works by killing the infection-causing bacteria; amoxicillin inhibits the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, while clavulanic acid prevents bacteria from destroying amoxicillin. - Due to its dual-action mechanism, it is highly effective against bacteria that have developed resistance to ordinary penicillin-class antibiotics. - It can also be utilized as part of a treatment plan for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis by countering bacterial enzymes that render other antibiotics ineffective.
